Make It A Habit
On the heels of our Dare to be Different series, we are going to take it one step further and ask the question, “How do we become a student that is different?”.
I would submit that the answer to this question lies in the foundation of our day to day lives. This foundation is made up of our habits.
This week we will be starting a new series called “Make it a Habit”, and in the end it is my hope that we will be driven, students and adults alike, to become followers of Christ who strive to have healthy habits in place that help us become more consistent Christ followers.

WEEK 4 - SHARING OUR GIFTS
OCTOBER 11, 2023
God has given us all varieties of gifts and then given us the command to do everything for His glory. Included in this is us using our gifts for his glory. Many times, we view or interpret the word “gifts” to be physical things, which is true, but we also have to remember that the “gifts” that God gives us also include our talents, abilities, desires, and the things that bring us life and joy.
We will be wrapping up this week with the habit of using our gifts.

WEEK 3 - SHARING OUR STORY

We all love a good story. Whether it is an amazing book that we mourn the completion of or an amazing movie that causes us to stand and cheer when the credits roll. Good stories draw us in. They capture our attention and they capture our emotions. There is a reason movie series like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Mighty Ducks, etc. have such followings. People are attached to the story. Every part of it.
The amazing part of the Bible is that there is a constant thread that runs through it. A thread of Jesus. The whole Bible whispers His name. Now, the crazy part of all of it…our stories are a part of the story that God is writing in His Kingdom story! We are playing a role in the story that God is writing in His world!! This is absolutely amazing!!

WEEK 2 - SPENDING TIME WITH OTHERS

This week, our habit revolves around spending time with others. It is a fact that the people we hang out with will indeed influence our thoughts, our feelings, our emotions, our language and our actions.
When we look at Jesus, he made it a point to spend time with those outside of his inner circle. He spent time with the “least of these”, those that society deemed worthless. He also spent time in the temples, with the pharisees. There was no person that Jesus shied away from.

WEEK 1 - SPENDING TIME WITH GOD
SEPTEMBER 20, 2023
This week we are talking about making the habit of spending time with God. We will be looking at Mark 1:35, Mark 6:46, Luke 5:16, Luke 6:11-12, Matthew 14:13. ALL of these verses speak to moments where Jesus himself seeks out opportunities to spend with God. Jesus made these moments habitual.
