What We are Doing This Month!

At Crossbridge Kids, we strive to introduce children to God’s Big Gospel Story and to give them the tools to develop and live out their faith. We believe children are the church of today, not the church of tomorrow, and we set up opportunities for children to learn how to walk as Christ’s disciples no matter their age. We use a scaffold model where we build upon the lessons and concepts of each earlier age, moving from simple knowledge to active discipleship as children grow.

Pre-School

Elementary

Preschool (Infant through Pre-K)

We focus on introducing foundational truths of the Gospel: God made me, God loves me, and God wants to be my friend. Children are taught to worship, learn monthly memory verses, and are introduced to individual stories of God’s amazing love.

For our Early Elementary children (Kinder – 2nd grade):

At this age we continue to teach individual Bible stories, but we focus on God’s Big Story, showing how all Bible stories join together into one big story -- God’s redemptive plan for all people. Children learn the structure of the Bible, where verses are located, and how to find individual passages. During Sunday small group, children think through how to implement what they learn into their everyday lives

For our older elementary children (3rd-4th grade):

For our older elementary kids, the focus shifts. Children learn how to be doers of the Word, not hearers only (James 1:22). Our older elementary children have the chance to lead the Sunday worship, modeling worship for theiryounger peers. We teach children how to take notes on the lesson and how to do their own daily quiet times. We host various service opportunities where this age child can volunteer at outside organizations and learn to show their faith in service.

Fifty6

This group is a bridge between our elementary and youth groups and a place where older children can safely walk their faith through major life transitions. Children in this group are encouraged to volunteer in different ministries in the church, assisting teachers in preschool and elementary classes or welcoming visitors in the lobby. Small groups at this age move from activity-based learning to group discussions where children can talk through challenges and successes of living as disciples of Christ.
