Hi Crossbridge!

Well, school has started and we are full of homework, projects, sports, and other activities.  If you have school aged children, these next few months can be very hectic.  Life can very quickly become overwhelming, if we are not careful.  And the trivial things we do can push out the important, the things we truly value and want.  One of the quickest things for us to push aside is engaging in intentional discipleship.  We want to follow Jesus, but we can easily move away from intentionality in growing as followers of Jesus.

Our conviction is that to grow as a follower of Jesus you need to be intentional, and where you have to be the most intentional is in relationships.  We believe that discipleship happens in relationships.  That is why we try to keep our church calendar simple and not overfill it with activities.  We do this so you can join a Community Group here at Crossbridge and regularly engage with others seeking intentional relationships.  This past Sunday in our “ROOTED” series, I preached on what it means to be intentional in our relationships so we might continually grow as disciples of Jesus.  If you missed it, you can watch or listen to it here

After our services, we had a chance for you to get linked to a Community Group through “GroupLINK”.  If you missed it, there is still time to get in a group before the fall season gets rolling.  Copy and paste this e-mail below to Kelsey Wakefield (, our new Next Steps Pastor and he’ll help you take the next step towards being in a Community Group.

        “Hi Kelsey!

I am interested in being in a Community Group this fall at Crossbridge.
Can you help me take this next step?

(sign your name - or an alias if you don’t trust us or happen to be in the
        witness protection program! :)

If you are already in a CG, then I want to encourage you to be more intentional about being there, on time, and ready to listen, encourage and be encouraged by others this year.  As a follow-up from Sunday’s message, Jason Bollinger, our Mobilization Pastor, has written a great blog post about how to respond to someone when they confess sin or hurt in their life.  Check it out by clicking here.

I know you are busy and have a lot to do, but there is nothing more important or more valuable than investing in your relationship with Jesus.  And growing in that relationship happens best when you are intentional in your other relationships.

I’ll see you Sunday!
