Note To Crossbridge!

Hi Everybody! I want to encourage you to make plans to be at one of our worship services this Sunday -for three reasons.

  1. We will "send-off" Scott and Tisha Rich!
  • You probably have already heard that Tisha is stepping off our staff as their family moves to College Station and this Sunday is her last official Sunday on staff at Crossbridge. Tisha and Scott are one of the first couples that Kathleen and I sat down with and shared this crazy idea that we believed God laid on our hearts to start a new church in Fort Bend County. They jumped in with us with both feet. From the beginning of our history they have served Jesus with us! Three years after we began Crossbridge we approached Tisha about joining our staff as Children's Ministry Director. It was crazy because she was a successful marketing director in Houston but we could think of no one better to bring leadership to this strategic area. Not only has she served in that role for almost ten years but she has organized many of our local mission opportunities.
  • Scott and Tisha also lead a Community Group! I don't think there is any part of our church that the Rich's have not served in some way or fashion. Scripture speaks of honoring such people (Philippians 2:29) while all glory goes to God alone, so I want to honor the Rich's by praying for them in our services, giving you an opportunity to show your appreciation to them between the services in the lobby (we'll have a special place for them to stand and greet), write them a note of encouragement (we'll have note cards available that will go in a special booklet for them) and celebrate all that God has done through them here!
  1. We will begin talking about Samson.
  • We'll continue our series "Heroes and Villains" by beginning the story of Samson. I'm telling you, you don't want to miss this Sunday! It is a FANTASTIC day to bring a friend to check out our church, and it is a FANTASTIC day to make sure you bring your teenager! Sunday’s message will be PG-13, by the way. We encourage all parents to let their kids experience our environments crafted just for them and available at both hours. They are filled with great servants who have a passion to teach kids about Jesus! Hey, we'll have food after each service so you could bribe them!
  1.      It is good to gather and worship.
  • Finally, it's good to be together as God's people and worship Jesus! It acclimates our hearts and minds that we are the people of God, filled with the Spirit of God. We are called to respond to the Word of God, and go out and live for the mission of God! I know you can "podcast" the message but it doesn't replace being in the room and watching Him move! Last week people met Jesus for the first time, were touched by His presence, and were encouraged by each other! We believe God is with us and eager to move in and through us!

I'll see ya Sunday!

Chuck
