Note To Crossbridge!

Dear Crossbridge Family! Last Sunday we kicked off our new series “HEROES AND VILLAINS” which is a series through the book of Judges. Judges is a crazy book and there is a lot to learn from these “broken heroes”. If you missed last week go HERE  and get caught up.

This Sunday I have some awesome BOLD stuff to share with you! God has been doing such a powerful work at Crossbridge with our BOLD Initiative, Easter Sunday, the baptisms, and we believe He is just getting started!

BOLD wasn’t just a sermon series or giving campaign for us but it is a gospel-infused word that is over hauling our culture at Crossbridge. We are going to continue to seek to be the boldest church we can for the glory of Jesus in Fort Bend County! BOLD has changed the way many of us (92% to be exact) give generously, pray and invite! It has not only changed us individually, it has changed our church family as a whole.

You may have noticed these past few Sundays that one of the ways we have been receiving our offering is by passing offering bags during our gathering. For the first 10 years of our Church’s history we received our offering through passing the plate. We stopped doing that these past few years and just had the offering boxes throughout the building. While that served us well these past two years, we have felt that we have lost the sense that generosity is an act of worship. Giving back to God is a time of worship not an after-thought as we are heading out to lunch!

So, we have made it a conscious decision to continue receiving the offering during the worship service for now, to communicate that this is an act of worship! Jesus has done so much for us, given us so much, has entrusted us with our resources that we give to the mission of the gospel as worship to Him. We are experimenting where in the service this will happen so if you feel we change where we take it, it is because we are changing where we take it : ). This week it will happen at the end of the service during our last song of celebration. Giving is a great way to celebrate the gospel!

I can’t wait to be with you this Sunday!

I believe God is going to do amazing things this week!

God is on the throne, Jesus is alive and the Spirit is on the move. It is a joy to serve you!

Chuck
