LETTER FROM ASSOCIATE PASTOR REED CUTSHALL
I am writing you today to tell you about my own unfinished journey. Over my years at Crossbridge I have served as one of the founding Elders, part of the Road Crew, Community Group Leader, and Community Group Leader Coach to name a few. I have been able to see God do some truly amazing things over the years. So much so, in 2013 I accepted a role as Associate Pastor because I knew this was what God had called me to as my next step in following Him.
After coming on staff, I was able to see tremendous things. We added a family building to allow us to expand our family ministry, we grew from a church of about 350 to about 600, and we purchased property for a permanent home. I have been blessed to be a part of these things as well as countless lives that have been touched by the ministry that each of us has been a part of as a group of Jesus followers. As we have grown, I have come to realize that what the church needs most right now is an Associate/Executive Pastor with a different skill set than I currently possess. I have spent much of the last year working to identify and develop the skills needed for this role as we continue to fulfill the mission we have been called to.
During this discovery, I have come to the realization that although I am capable of learning these skills, I would not be able to maintain the priorities that I have set to God and to my family. After much prayer and personal struggle, Erin and I made a decision, and in March I began a conversation with Chuck and the Elders about stepping down from my role as Associate Pastor at Crossbridge. Over the subsequent months, the Elders and I discussed the future of the church and how I could best serve the church and my family. I have begun the process of finding a new job in the business world that would allow me to continue to serve at Crossbridge as a servant team member, community group member and an elder, after I take a little time off from serving to get settled into my new job.
In preparing for this transition, one of the things I have enjoyed the most is helping to prepare for the person who will fill this new Executive Pastor role. I am excited for who God has brought to us, and I look forward to working with him, not only as I transition off staff, but also as we continue to honor God by making growing followers of Jesus. Thank you for loving me and my family well and allowing me to be on this journey with you.
FROM PASTOR CHUCK LAND (on behalf of the Elders)
Dear Crossbridge Family,
I want you to know the Elders absolutely support and admire Reed for his humility, character, self-awareness and courage in this decision. We love Reed and his family and are committed to the Cutshall family. We are so grateful for the YEARS of service as a Crossbridge Partner, an Elder and the last several years as a staff member! We would not be where we are today as a church without Reed Cutshall. God has used him here in mighty ways, and we look forward to how God will continually use him on our Elder team!
We will be honoring Reed and Erin this coming Sunday in our Worship Gatherings. Be sure to communicate to him, how much you appreciate his heart and service to Christ and Crossbridge.
